Often times, I am asked why I started Oasis Tees. The answer is simple: there was a niche that needed to be filled. The idea came to me while volunteering at an organization. I was tasked with ordering a large about 75 custom printed t shirts for all the volunteers. I searched the web for a place that would give me a reasonable price, but I found nothing. I decided to contact one of the bigger suppliers, but they told me they do not sell directly to end users. Eventually, I did buy the shirts from some company, but I realized there was a gap in the market. Was there no place that offered supplier-like prices to end users? That’s when the idea of Oasis Tees came to me. I wanted to create a shop where end users could get fair prices that are close to what I get from the suppliers. Thus, Oasis Tees was born.
About a month after I had created Oasis tees, the German department at my school decided to have a fundraiser for cancer research. The plan was to sell printed t shirts and donate the proceeds. Since I was dedicated to helping customers get the best price possible, I contacted the head of the German department and told her about Oasis Tees. After working with her, we managed to get her a great price for her design. In fact, the demand for the shirt was so high that a second order was placed. All in all, about $750 were donated to cancer research as a result of my first project.
I used Gildan G500, 100% Cotton T-Shirt in White color to keep the cost low. In order to keep the T-Shirt attractive and appealing to students of my age group, I used 2 color imprint. The result was a very economical product, that conveyed the exact message very clearly. See my first project below :
